A $200 denomination stamp. Yes, it’s the same size as a regular postage stamp.
ATF has approved two of my Forms 1 (for SBRs) in the past few days. Two more to go!
Approved:Vector HK53 clone, MKE MP5 clone
Still pending: MKE MP5K clone, AR15 SBR

Dat background check tho. I heard it’s like a 10 month process and they send agents out to speak with so many of your references.

Congrats!
Welcome to the $200/ea stamp collectors club. I am jelly of that MP5 SBR. MP5 is win.
When the time is right, I’ll be going for my first suppressor for this thing:

Nice!! I am on a trust so I can get whatever I want if I pay the stamp. Too bad everything I want is $1000 plus stamp.

Uhhhh no. Quickly explained for SBS/SBR:
You fill out the appropriate paperwork (or e-file) for whatever you’re doing and then mail or e-file it to the ATF. This also requires $200 to pay for the tax stamp. The ATF then takes its sweet ass time processing your information and eventually approves or disapproves (which is correctable). Must also get the firearm engraved with trust name or your name/city/state.

Oh, I’ve been in the club for a long time. These are I believe my 14th and 15th stamps.

New rules take effect in July, you might want to get something in the pipeline now while it’s still easy.

Ooh! Had no idea.
Shame the process is changing this summer and my trust wont be “as free”. ID, LEO notification etc. etc. :(

Yeah, that’s why I threw these 4 into the pipeline in January. The rules changes aren’t a huge deal, but are a minor PITA so I decided to just avoid them for the time being. This “non-natural person” thing w/ the ATF has really come full circle. I formed a corporation back in the 90s to end-run the CLEO signature, then EVERYBODY did it (though most w/ LLCs and trusts), and now FINALLY it’s going away and they’re making everybody do prints and pictures.
